Happy New Year!

Hope everyone had a nice break!  Enjoy the last few days.

Reminders:

1- Practice Thurs. 1/2 after school (weather permitting).....listen for announcement at the end of the school day.

2- Boys Varsity Tournament this Saturday at Parkway Lanes.  All must take the bus from IH!  We are scheduled to leave IHHS at 8AM.  Bring money for lunch!  We could be home late (4-5pm).

Great day for IHHS!!!

3 of 6 bowlers made the cut and Alex McGuire made it to the finals.  Head-to-head against Jake Rollins is no small task and coming in 2nd place today in the tournament was amazing for Alex!!!!  Congrats!

On another note:  For those of you following stats; the links on this blog are all very different and can be confusing.  Here is what it means:

The Big North Stats page ONLY tracks VARSITY games in match play on our regular season schedule. The IHHS Average page tracks EVERY game you bowl for Indian Hills.  For various awards down the road, Varsity Big North games mean the most, but we like to track every bowlers progress on our own also.  That's why we have an IHHS Average page too.

REMINDERS:

We bowl against Paramus Catholic Monday and Bergenfield Thursday this week.  Both matches are at Holiday Bowl in Oakland.

EVERYONE MUST TAKE THE BUS TO THE MATCH!!!

THE BUS WILL LEAVE AROUND 3:15PM FROM THE FRONT OF INDIAN HILLS!

Students CAN drop off their equipment in my Office (Room 806) in the morning for safe keeping.

Big North Average Sheets Posted

The links on the right for Big North Averages are up and running.  You can click on either the boys or girls tab to get to the link.  Then, click on the bottom tab's for our division- FREEDOM.  (T) is for TEAM and (I) is for INDIVIDUAL.  The other divisions are all posted too along with Overall Rankings, etc....

Don't forget the Sportsmanship Meeting tomorrow in the Auditorium at 3:15PM.

ALSO, next week we have Ridgewood on Thursday AT BOWLER CITY!!!!  EVERYONE MUST TAKE THE BUS TO BOWLER CITY!!!  YOU CAN ALSO TAKE THE BUS HOME, BUT CAN ARRANGE FOR A PARENT TO PICK YOU UP IF YOU WOULD LIKE!!!

We also bowl next Friday back in Oakland against Northern Highlands.

The link to AVERAGES will be up and running soon along with Big North Varsity Averages.  I keep everyone's average for every game you bowl.  The  Big North link I will be posting only calculates your VARSITY GAMES.

Sorry to inform everyone that Hackensack cancelled the match with us today.  I have no control over it.  We will make it up later in the year.

Reminders

1- Sorry about the confusion with practice today.

2- Our first match is tomorrow (Tues) at Holiday Bowl.  We are bowling against Hackensack.

Reminders:

You must wear an Indian Hills Bowling shirt or sweatshirt to bowl.  If, for some         reason, you do not have one to wear then you have to wear something else that has the school name/letters on it.

Please try to get down to the lanes a little earlier for a quick team meeting prior to the match.

3- The Athletic Department is holding a Sportsmanship Meeting in the Auditorium THIS THURSDAY at 3:15PM in the Auditorium.  ALL BOWLERS MUST ATTEND!!!!  It will take 20 minutes.

REMINDERS

1- Check with the Nurse to make sure you are "CLEARED" to bowl.

2- Beginner's Clinic tomorrow (Fri) in Room 808.

3- First practice at the lanes - Mon, Nov 18th.  You can get yourself thereon your own or take the bus from the front of the school.  The bus leaves around 3:15PM.  Remember it is only a DROP-OFF bus, you need to arrange to be picked up at the lanes at the conclusion of the 1-2 hour practice.

OPEN HOUSE TONIGHT (7PM IHHS GYM):

Only bowlers from last year should go to the OPEN HOUSE tonight if you are available.  It is not mandatory, if you cannot make it, its is not a big deal.  All of our Captain's will be there.

Final Stats Posted

Congratulations are in order for many accolades this season:

1st of all, Andrew tied/broke a few IHHS records: High Game, 200's in a Career, 200's in a season, High 3 Game Series, Average in 1 Season. These are truly amazing stats and gives many younger bowlers something to try to achieve.

The team also broke the 4-person high game record. Final stats are posted on the google doc: FINAL STATS Thanks to all! Join a league and get ready for next November! It will be here before you know it!!!
