BUS WILL DEPART IHHS IN THE FRONT COURTYARD AT 3:15PM

STATS ARE UP!

Note the new tab at the top of the page "Current Stats". Click on the tab and then click on the picture to make it larger!

Here you will find your current average along with many other stat columns. Most of them are not important right now.

Things you SHOULD be paying attention to:

1. ST DEV - Standard Deviation:
Simply stated...the smaller the number, the more consistent you are.

2. 1st Game, 2nd Game, 3rd Game -
1st Game is the average of all of your 1st games of a match.
2nd Game is the average of all of your 2nd games of a match.
3rd Game is the average of all of your 3rd games of a match.
(only accurate for varsity bowlers)

3. League Average - Obviously, your average so far this year.

4. Median - This is the middle score of all games bowled. Some feel this is MORE accurate than average since average takes into account one huge game or one bad game and can cause a big swing in your average.

Use these for what they are worth, don't read into it too much yet.......

The last 4 boys on the list for each day will bowl after JV finishes.

Matt Green gets the nod at Varsity for the first game, but if a JV'er beats him they might move right into his Varsity spot. Keep up the good work all!

Another note - *JV Bowlers* If you leave the lanes before the Varsity finishes bowling you are sacrificing your chance to bowl varsity. We could have used someone after the Varsity finished game #2 and pretty much everyone was gone. Now that we know the timing of the new system, it is strongly recommended that you stick around!

REMINDER!!!

The 1st practice of the year is this THURSDAY (11/17), NOT Tuesday.

Practice will start by 3:30PM and should run until no later than 5PM.

A bus will be provided at the front of the building after school to get to Holiday Bowl (Oakland), but you must get your own ride home from Holiday Bowl.

MEETING TODAY AFTER SCHOOL IN ROOM 808

- PLEASE ATTEND A BRIEF MEETING AFTER SCHOOL IN ROOM 808.

We will be running a fundraiser and I would like all bowlers to help out in some way.

Moustache March is the fundraiser. We will be encouraging people to grow a moustache and get people to sponsor them for their participation during the month of March. 75% of the proceeds will be donated to help a local 8 month-old boy (Gavin Scimeca) who is in need of a kidney transplant. The other 25% will go to the team for any clothing items you might want. We can decide that later.

Bridget Pyryt bowled a school record 639 series – 223, 227 and 189 yesterday (breaking her own record from last year).

She qualified #2 of 18 total qualifiers from a field of 226 bowlers in all of northern NJ.

GIRLS TOURNAMENT POSTPONED!!!!

BREAKING NEWS:

The Girls State Sectional Tournament scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed until Monday.

We will be leaving IHHS by bus around 1:30PM on Monday (tournament to start at 3:30PM), so bring your equipment to school on Monday. You can keep your equipment in my office if you need to.

REMINDER TO THE GIRLS: Arrive at IHHS 7:30AM tomorrow morning for the State Sectional Tournament. It is a 3 game tournament, so we should be back to IHHS around noon. If the weather were to cancel the tournament for tomorrow, i will post an update. PLEASE TELL ANY LADIES ON THE TEAM TO BE AT IHHS TOMORROW MORNING AT 7:30AM!

We are trying to have our 2nd makeup match on Monday, but the other coach is still unsure of the date. Please prepare for Monday as if WE DO have a match. We also have a match on Tuesday at Bowler City.

Our make-up match vs Ridgefield Park will be Tues Feb 8th at Bowler City.

This will be the last match of the year before the Boys State Sectional Tournament (which is Sat 2/12 at Bowler City).

New Average Sheets are up, BUT....

Make sure to look closely at the average sheet. I updated the columns for 1st game, 2nd game, 1st half and 2nd half.

FYI, here are their meanings:

1st Game = The average of all of the first games you bowled in every match.

2nd Game = The average of all of the second games you bowled in every match.

1st Half = 1st half of the season average (league matches only). This column is done now, since we are in the 2nd half now.

2nd half = 2nd half of the season average (league matches only). This column is still changing, so get your average up with a nice strong finish to the season!!!!
